The General Counsel is the chief legal officer of the ISA and is charged with all legal aspects concerning the ISA's activity.
The ISA's attorneys are teamed up with the various departments, which engage in supervision, enforcement and rule making. The legal department, headed by the General Counsel, supervises and supports the work of the ISA's departments, and provides legal advice on the securities laws, administrative laws, and other applicable laws. It also leads the work on rules and legislation proposed by the ISA.
In addition, the legal department handles all other legal matters related to the ISA's work, such as tenders, contracts, representation of the ISA in courts on civil proceedings, etc.
