 Ms. Shlomit Barnea Fargo has been an attorney for 30 years. She holds both LLB and LL.M degrees from Bar Ilan University.

Since 2003, she has been serving as the Prime Minister's Office Legal Adviser, after having served four years as Senior Deputy Legal Adviser in the Prime Minister's Office and two years as Acting Legal Adviser. During the term of the 33rd Government, she was also assigned the responsibility of providing legal counselling to the Ministry of Intelligence Affairs and to the Ministry of Strategic Affairs. During the term of the 32nd Government, she provided legal counselling to the Ministry of Senior Citizens; the Ministry of Public Diplomacy & Diaspora Affairs; the Ministry of Intelligence Affairs; the Ministery of Strategic Affairs; and to various Ministers without Portfolio at the Prime Minister's Office.

During 1984-1998, she worked in the private sector in law firms specializing in commercial law, real estate, corporations, receiverships & liquidations, labor law and local authority law, and was a litigator in all levels of the court.

Between 2002-2014, Atty. Barnea Fargo served as the State's representative on the Board of Directors of the Israel Electric Company. During 2005-2012, she chaired the Board of Directors' Audit Committee, and served as Chairwoman of the Board of Directors' Corporate Responsibility Committee between 2011-2014. During these years, she was also a member of various other boards of directors, including a high tenders committee; finance committee; insurance committee; regulation committee; organization committee; personnel & procedures committee; business development committee; and committees for the appointment of a company CEO and the internal auditor.  

Between 2003-2006, Atty. Barnea Fargo served as the State's representative on the Yitzhak Rabin Center Council. She has been a member of the General Assembly of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation since 2005.

Atty. Barnea Fargo is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors in Israel and serves as the Prime Minister's representative on the EMET Prize Committee; the steering committee of the Birthright Israel Project; the steering committee of the MASA Project; and the Genesis Prize selection committee. She is also a member of a public committee which deals with security on behalf of the Ministry of Intelligence Affairs.  

Since 1997, Atty. Barnea Fargo has been a lecturer in various academic and professional frameworks. She published an article titled "Fidelity Duty and Fulfilment of Mission by Elected Officials in Employee and Employers Unions" in the Labor Law Yearly, under the academic auspices of Tel Aviv University's Law Faculty; an article titled "Charging Fees for Professional-Organizational Services – Legitimate Infringement on Basic Rights?" in the "Law Studies" Periodical of Bar Ilan University's Law Faculty; and an article titled "External Audit of Internal Audit at Government and Public Companies", published in "Corporations", a legal periodical on corporations, securities and antitrust.

Since April 2014, Atty. Barnea Fargo has served as the State's representative at the plenary of the Israel Securities Authority.
